GRAB you smartphone or computer to help mark the 100th consecutive #WorcestershireHour on Twitter tonight (Monday).

Stuart Allen, the man behind the hashtag which helps the county's businesses, charities and organisations link up, hopes to get 1,000 individual tweeters joining in tonight's hour.

Usually, between 600 and 700 people join in #WorcestershireHour which runs every Monday from 8pm to 9pm.

Businessman Mr Allen, from St John's, Worcester, launched the hour on May 6, 2013 and has watched it grow forming a social enterprise business to handle the commercial activities and employing one person, Aaron Wainwright, to manage the day-to-day activities.

The 50-year-old said: "In the past 12 months #WorcestershireHour tweets have been seen by ten million unique Twitter accounts and 15,000 people have taken part in the event at least once.

"Aaron and I have not missed a single #WorcestershireHour since it started and would love to see the magical 1,000 attendee number hit to celebrate the 100th edition."

To take part in the 100th #WorcestershireHour log on to Twitter between 8pm and 9pm tonight and use #WorcestershireHour in your message.

If you search the same hashtag, you will be able to see all the other messages being sent.
