EASTER plans may be a bit up in the air as a weatherman said the county can expect "everything but the kitchen sink" over the Bank Holiday.

High wind, bright spells and downpours are all on the cards for Worcestershire over the next week and in to the long Bank Holiday weekend.

Ian Michaelwaite, of Pershore-based netweather.tv, said: "We can expect everything but the kitchen sink in terms of the weather.

"It is going to be a mixed bag.

"The cries of an Easter heatwave which appeared in the national press a little while ago are not coming to fruition.

"It is going to be unsettled with blustery winds and quite chilly at times this week.

"But it should slow down as we go into the long weekend itself.

"Tomorrow (Tuesday) will be better than today, there will be more in the way of sunshine and less in the way of rain.

"It will be similar on Wednesday, staying dry, and on Thursday the rain comes again but it will be a less windy day."

Mr Michaelwaite said that there will start of pretty miserable start to the Bank Holiday but it would improve over the four days.

"Into the long weekend, it starts pretty miserable with the rain from Thursday hanging around on Friday.

"There will be blustery showers but then the high pressure will take control and there will be plenty of clear skies during the weekend and plenty of spring sunshine but it won't feel warm.

"It's average for this time of year but it will probably feel quite pleasant at times."
