FACILITIES at the Malvern Cube community centre are better than ever after the installation of a new portable building on the site.

The new building has two distinct sections: a larger meeting space for bigger groups and a more private space for smaller or one-to-one meetings.

Its addition to the centre in Albert Road North follows the installation of a new boiler and new windows, and new floors are being installed throughout the building.

Cube manager Jon White said: "These changes are designed to improve the facilities on offer and will benefit everybody who uses the building, making the Cube a better venue for all who use it now, improving the space so that its appeal is widened and ensuring that the Cube provides facilities suitable for the community it serves.

"The Cube has amazing potential for the future and although change can be unsettling, the staff, volunteers, trustees and supporters are all working hard to to make these changes happen as quickly and efficiently as possible so that everyone can benefit and the Cube will beat at the heart of the community for many years to come."

The Cube, formerly the youth centre, was taken over by Malvern Youth and Community Trust in 2012 after it was threatened by closure by Worcestershire County Council.

It provides a home for numerous groups including pilates and yoga classes, youth theatre groups, Malvern Hills District Brass Band and much more.
