FISHERY bailiffs responding to reports of illegal fishing on the River Teme, at Powick, discovered a wooden shelter built near trees on fire.
One fire crew from Worcester was called to put out the fire which had burned into one of the trees and was well alight. The smoke could be seen from quite a distance away and there was a threat of the fire spreading to nearby vegetation.
Firefighters used two water back packs and buckets using water from the river.
There are no reports of any arrests or injuries.
