OVER 100 supporters dressed up and danced the night away at St Richard’s Hospice’s 1920s-themed summer ball.

The glamorous occasion, held at Malvern College, raised £7,000 to help the hospice continue to provide compassionate care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and support their loved ones.

Guests were treated to some very special St Richard’s hospitality, enjoying a delicious three-course meal followed by live music from trio Gershwin Gang who took guests back in time with a mix of jazz, swing and rat-pack music. The casino was also hugely popular with those that did not want to take to the dance floor.

Supporters gave generously to the live auction, led by Will Kerton from Knight Frank, and to the raffle. Special souvenir photographs were also available from Pinhole Images and guests enjoyed trying out their photo booth.

Rachel Jones, fundraising manager at St Richard’s Hospice, said: “We had a fabulous night with everyone going to so much effort to dress up and look glamorous.

"We are very grateful to the St Richard’s Hospice business patrons who sponsored the event and to Malvern Events at Malvern College for providing the venue free of charge, which looked absolutely stunning.

"The money raised could fund a specialist bereavement counsellor at the hospice for three months.”

St Richard’s Hospice provides free specialist palliative care for patients living with life-limiting illnesses and supports their families. Each year the hospice team supports over 2,600 patients and family members in Worcestershire with compassion, kindness, dignity and respect.
