PUPILS from Bosbury CE Primary have created an exhibition and invited their whole village to view their work.

The children created 800 clay figures, to represent the number of people in the village, as well as pieces about hops, a local chair maker Clissett, farming machinery, building through the ages and leaflets about Bosbury.

The project was part of their learning about their village and the children had enjoyed heritage walks by English Heritage and worked with artists in residence to create the display.

Maggie Spence, headteacher, said: "The church looked stunning with the range of work.”

Martin Phillips, from Historic England, said: "It’s been an absolute pleasure and privilege, working with the whole staff and entire student population of Bosbury CE Primary School.

"This was a highly ambitious project, promoted by Ms Spence and co-ordinated by Sue Walker, but it was successful because the whole staff bought into it and invested commitment, creativity, enthusiasm and time.

"The teachers all moved out of their comfort zones.

"They have explored the fascinating heritage of Bosbury, generating the curiosity of their pupils and developing new skills for teachers and students alike.

"The result has been an incredibly diverse and impressive project which has impacted on every single area of the curriculum."
