THE arrival of a new baby prompted five generations of one Worcester family to get together for this picture.

Little Charlie was born three weeks ago and his family were thrilled that he was able to meet his great-great grandmother Maroulla Michaela, who will be 88 on Friday.

Mrs Michaela, known as Mary, from Dines Green, came to Worcester from Cyprus as a young bride. Some may remember the family running Greek restaurant Famagusta.

She had son George, aged 68, who now lives in Bevere.

He, in turn, had Nicki Michaela, aged 44, who has also spent her life living in St John's.

Her daughter Daniele Blann, aged 25, was also born and brought up in St John's but recently moved to Malvern.

Charlie made the family wait for the meeting as he arrived two weeks after his due date.

Proud grandmother Nicki Michaela said: "My Nan is very ill and we never believed she would ever be a great-great nan.

"I feel like it's not very often you get five generations.

"With Charlie being two weeks late I was so scared she wouldn't get the opportunity to meet him.

"Having the five of us together, she was just so proud.

"It was lovely."
