Malvern is getting into the Christmas spirit this week, from festivals to carol services to a classic ballet.

Great Malvern Christmas Festival

The festive celebration begins on Saturday (November 25) with the return of the Great Malvern Christmas Festival at the Priory.

The day starts at 10am with an arts and crafts market, food stalls, and entertainment.

But that's not all, it's Narnia-themed this year in honour of C.S. Lewis' 125th birth anniversary, who drew inspiration from the town's iconic gas lamps after going to school in Malvern.

Aside from the themed festivities, attendees can anticipate seasonal activities such as Santa’s grotto, Christmas markets, festive entertainment, and Malvern Theatres’ pantomime stars switching on the town's Christmas lights.

Heading into Saturday evening, the day can be rounded off at 6.15pm with a free carol service by the choirs of Malvern Priory, marking the end of the Great Malvern Christmas Festival.

The Nutcracker

Then on Sunday (November 26) at 1pm and 7pm, Malvern Theatres will host Classical Ballet and Opera House productions of the timeless classic ballet, The Nutcracker, accompanied by a full orchestra.

Clara's Christmas Eve adventure with the Nutcracker, their battle against the Mouse King, and their visit to the Sugar Plum Fairy enthrall audiences in the festive season each year.
