Leading anti-animal testing campaigners raised nearly £100 in a Malvern street collection.

The National Anti-Vivisection Society (NAVS), in operation since 1875, held its street collection on Saturday (April 20).

The aim of the collection, carried out by NAVS supporters Max and Pauline Burgess, who raised £90.46, was to bring attention to the hundred million laboratory animals killed globally each year.

This was part of a week-long awareness campaign for 'World Day for Laboratory Animals'.

Grateful for the generosity of the Malvern community, NAVS will use the funds to continue its work.

NAVS have appealed to others to join their cause, offering resources and assistance to anyone interested in helping organise similar events.

Those interested in supporting NAVS can contact them at info@ad-international.org or call 0207 630 3340.
