AN Upton Upon Severn drinking establishment has been handed a new food hygiene rating.

The Ye Olde Anchor Inn pub, based in Upton Upon Severn, Worcestershire was given its score after an inspection on April 17, the Food Standards Agency's website shows.

The inspection covered a wide range of areas that included ratings for hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building, and management of food safety.

The eatery was awarded a good rating for its hygienic food handling, cleanliness and condition of facilities and building and management of food safety.

All of these combined meant that it scored an overall food hygiene rating of five stars - which is the highest mark that an establishment can receive.
