LEDBURY Hunt Pony Club members Freddie Leith, Erin Tufnell, Charlie Ralli and Meg Smith played for the United Kingdom under 16s.
The 16-year-olds were part of a polocrosse team of eight in an international test against Ireland.
The first Test was played in difficult conditions after heavy rainfall over the previous 48 hours.
It was closely fought and the score at the end of the eighth and final chukka was 11-11.
A nail-biting golden goal was scored by the UK girls’ section after two minutes to win the Test.
The second match was equally exciting with the UK playing well against strong, determined opposition.
The score crept up steadily as they finally came away with a 17-14 win to claim the Test series 2-0.
Both players and horses impressed as the the teenagers’ hard work and commitment to training alongside their GCSE exams paid off.
