ON-SONG Hereford United striker Serge Mor Diop has earned the plaudits of his team-mates after firing the team to their recent success.

The Bulls head to Frome Town in the Southern League Premier Division today (3pm) aiming to wrap up a sixth straight win in all competitions.

French goal-getter Diop has been a key factor in that run with seven goals in his last four matches.

United skipper Brad-Lee Gascoigne said: “Mo’s on fire at the moment and he’s done just what he had to do.

“We told him to stay inside the six-yard box and he has got goals from that.”

Assistant manager Neil Phelps was another to heap praise on the Hereford striker.

“Serge up front is a real handful,” he said.

“His touch is unbelievable, he can take the ball and control it really well.

“He holds it up well and he scores goals too. You can’t ask any more of a striker.”

Keeper Luke Williams, who is attracting attention from Aston Villa for his performances, added: “Mo has been unbelievable for us.

“It’s not just his goals, it’s the way he holds the ball up and takes the pressure off us.

“We know sometimes that if we need to get the ball forward, he is there to hold it up. He has been tremendous for us.”

Williams also highlighted the role that team spirit has played in the club’s five-game unbeaten run.

The 19-year-old prospect said: “Everyone’s buzzing at the moment and you can see it within the team and really it’s just confidence, that was all we needed.

“We’ve always had the players and now we’ve got the confidence it’s just clicked as the results are showing.”

Skipper Gascoigne added: “We’ve got a five-match unbeaten run and we want to keep that going.

“We’ve got five wins out of five and that’s by far the best we’ve had all season.”
