PETE Beadle is expected to throw his hat into the ring to become the first manager of newly-formed Hereford FC.

Club secretary Martin Watson said Hereford had received ‘several good applications’ for the manager’s role ahead of Thursday’s 5pm deadline.

Beadle steered Hereford United to safety last season in the Conference Premier before severe financial problems hit the club.

Hereford have now secured the leases to play at Edgar Street next season after Hereford United were wound up in December.

Hereford are applying to join the FA’s competition structure and could be placed alongside Stourport Swifts, Alvechurch and Westfields next term in the Midland Premier Division.

Watson said: “We have had several good applications from managers who have worked at a higher level than we will be at next season.

“The final choice is already going to be a difficult one and I understand there are a number of additional names who will be submitting their details shortly.

“This will be the most important decision the club has to make and therefore the manager who gets the job will have to demonstrate not only his ability, but also a huge desire to succeed at Edgar Street.”

Watson added: “Once we have compiled a shortlist and organised interviews, a decision on who will become Hereford FC’s first manager will then be made with the input of the full board o directors.”

People interested in applying for the manager’s role at Hereford should email a CV and covering letter to Martin Watson at fd@herefordfc.co.uk, or by post to Martin Watson, club secretary, Hereford FC, c/o Unit 4, 7 Canal Road, Hereford, HR1 2EA.
