LEAGUES4YOU players in Malvern have been chosen as a beneficiary of the Joanna Brown Trust grant scheme.

Women involved in the Leagues4you Malvern Fun League are taking full advantage of free training sessions the trust have put on for them.

There are 20 sessions being funded in full and the coachled training has proved a massive hit, with more than 50 local ladies benefitting in the first 10 weeks.

Charlotte Waugh, of Leagues4you, said: “Our Malvern ladies have been overwhelmed with this generous gift from the Joanna Brown Trust.

“A lot of the teams can’t afford ford to fund coach-led training so to be given this opportunity is fantastic for their skill development.”

The trust is a Malvernbased charity aiming to encourage involvement in sport and provide people with an opportunity to experience and excel in it.

A former Dyson Perrins school pupil, Joanna Brown enjoyed netball, rowing, running marathons and new adventures.

She died in 2008 aged 30 in an accident while on holiday in Siberia.

Leagues4you run funfocused sports leagues in the local area, including in Worcester.
