WICKETKEEPER Ollie Ranscombe scored 65 runs as Worcestershire Cricket League Second XI Division One leaders Worcester Nomads won by six wickets at Netherton to get back on track.

They continue to lead Stourport, who triumphed at home to Belbroughton, by 28 points.

Colwall lost to Bewdley, Evesham beat Redditch, Coombs Wood beat Hagley and Pedmore scored 304-9 to win by one wicket off the last ball at Worcester.

In Division Two, Feckenham remained a single point ahead of Harborne following victory over Burghill thanks to Andy Kings’ 119.

Harborne won at home to Enville, while Wormelow beat Avoncroft and took over in third place from Bromyard, who lost at Rushwick thanks to James Saunders making 93.

Oldswinford beat Lye and Droitwich beat Cookley with Ashley Walton scoring 99 not out.

In Division Three, Old Vigornians lost to second-placed Bromsgrove by 88 runs at New Road thanks to 105 not out from Richard Barnes and excellent bowling and fielding by the Boars.

Bromsgrove batted first and were made to struggle against some accurate seam bowling from James Hayward-Meek (3-43) and Phil Mackie (1-37).

Barnes started slowly but eased through the gears as the innings progressed, reaching his century with a six into the County ground.

Tom Downing scored 51 and Neale Ingram made 33.

Fifteen-year-old Ed Burgoyne bowled a tidy spell of off-spin but finished wicketless in the total of 260-6.

OVs made a good fist of the run chase to begin with thanks to Taz Shah (44) and Aidan Thompson (35) but from 75-1 they collapsed to 114-6.

Tim Waites (14) and Tim Race (19 not out) were the only other batsmen to reach double figures as the Worcester side were eventually dismissed for 172.

Chaddesley Corbett beat Five Ways Old Edwardians to stay four points in front of Bromsgrove.

Alvechurch went fourth with a win over Alveley thanks to 124 from Andrew Duggins.

Bartestree closed on Worcester Dominies following a 77-run win that owed much to Rauri Wargent’s 94.

Nadeem Ahmed made 51 and took 5-29 for Claverley as they beat Bredon, who slipped to 11th following Kempsey’s exciting win off the final delivery at basement boys Kidderminster.

Division Four leaders Halesowen beat Martley thanks to 6-24 from 15-year-old Raqeeb Khan.

Stourport beat Malvern but Astwood Bank lost vital ground when defeated by Barnards Green.

Himley beat Ross-on-Wye and enabled Hanley Castle and Upton to climb off the foot of the table with victory over Himbleton.

Division Five leaders Hallow beat fourth-placed Tenbury and stay 15 points in front of Old Elizabethans, who saw off Stourbridge. Droitwich beat West Malvern.

Division Six leaders Harvington’s match at Highley was abandoned with no play, while Harborne lost to fast-improving Cutnall Green.

Pershore thrashed Hagley, Romsley lost at Birlingham and Ombersley’s James Hucker scored 122 to put Worcester Nomads’ bowling attack to the sword.

Division Seven North table-toppers Stone lost to Netherton and Belbroughton beat Romsley despite Ollie Taylor making 111.

Coombs Wood beat Harborne and Five Ways beat Pedmore.

Division Seven South leaders Worcester thrashed Evesham to open a 19-point gap over Ombersley Taverners, who beat basement side Bredon by 273 runs with Marcus Taylor scoring 108no.

Bartestree beat Bromyard and Bewdley’s veteran Pete Mauger made 71 as they defeated Kidderminster.

The Carter Cup final winners were Claverley, who beat Old Vigornians.
