ROB Purdie says he would love to get a opportunity to play a league side in the FA Cup.

The Hereford FC midfielder believes the Bulls' run in the FA Vase last season 'catapulted' the players to another level and the FA Cup could do likewise.

"Last season, it was probably my last chance to play at Wembley and this year is probably the last chance I will get to play a big league team which is where we want to try and get to," said Purdie.

"It's just a bonus on top of everything; if we were to suffer in the league because of it, it would be a disappointment."

Hereford beat Sutton Coldfield Town 3-2 thanks to a stoppage time penalty from John Mills minutes after the home side had equalised.

"When they scored in the 86th minute, you're just thinking of another replay on Tuesday," added Purdie.

"Luckily we got the late goal and, to be fair, sometimes that's the best time to win a game.

"It brings the team a little bit closer together than a 2-0 or 3-0, so we're happy and through to the next round."

The match was played on a 3G surface and Purdie admitted it can difficult to play on.

"Half of it is alright, but it just takes it out of you a little bit more," he said.

"The surface can be quite bobbly and the balls keep bouncing."
